A unique land kissed by the sun

Salento

The deep south of the “heel of Puglia” is a mix between fascinating cities of historical value and the perfection of Baroque art, which meets the historical and culinary tradition of a unique land, inhabited over millennia by different civilizations, each of which has left its inheritance also in the dialectal forms still widespread in the cities of Lecce interland.
All this creates a harmonious experience that will surely leave you speechless.

The pearl of Salento, the city of Lecce, is one of the symbols of Puglia (also known as the “Florence of the South”), surrounded by immense expanses of centuries-old olive trees as far as your eyes can see.
In this city the Baroque architecture sees its maximum expression, both in the churches and in its Cathedral, whose square simply leaves you breathless, and the oldest buildings such as the Roman amphitheater (built in the center of the city, in Piazza Sant’Oronzo) and “secret gardens”, create a harmonious atmosphere rich of history and culture, making Lecce an unforgettable city for everyone.

Following the very long Salento coasts, bathed by the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, there are two of the most recognized cities at national and international level.
On the Ionian coast stands Gallipoli, an important port of antiquity, today a renowned entertainment destination especially for the youngest, and which offers numerous beaches and equipped lidos whose crystalline sea has been compared to the landscapes of Maldives. On the Adriatic shore instead stands the city of Otranto, whose breathtaking views of the sea can only be contrasted with the charm of its ancient history and centuries-old tradition. To visit absolutely is the imposing Cathedral built in the heart of the city.

Going to the north we find the historic city of Brindisi, built by the Romans and connected to the capital of the empire by the Via Appia, whose columns that mark its end still exist today and rise a few meters from the port. Today the city is an important airport and port, and allows you to connect the Salento area with the vast majority of capitals throughout Europe.
Enjoy a day visiting the castles that rise imposingly in the heart of the city.
